Cooperative Newbuilds
With your GenossenSchaffen subscription you’re the first to hear about new cooperative listings in Zurich. Apart from ads for individual flats there’s also an alternative route to a cooperative flat: newbuilds. Cooperatives regularly replace older buildings with newer, often larger ones that contain more flats. Sometimes dated terraced houses have to make space for larger apartment blocks. In any case, such projects mean that a large number of flats go online in one go – this increases your odds of obtaining a cooperative apartment. All you need to do is find the projects on the websites of the cooperatives and apply at the right moment. To help you, our subscription service includes notifications about cooperative newbuilds. Usually you will receive in email with general information as well as a notification announcing the start of the application process for each project.
In addition, we provide a free list of cooperative newbuilds below, whereby we have roughly ordered them chronologically by expected move-in date.
Note: Making sure you're online at the right time is key to securing a flat in a cooperative newbuild. It is not uncommon for the application windows to be extremely short - often under 2 hours!
